AGAINST NATURE

The title of this photo series refers to the novel "A Rebours" by Joris-Karl Huysmans. While the shadow of the floating bouquet - including tied up withered flowers - is an allegory of the “Sensenmann” – a memento mori.

First shown mounted on kitchen tiles as part of the installation “The Lamp”, Manifesta 1, Rotterdam 1996.
